With a new book arriving on shelves soon, Marrs wants everyone the embrace the space that they're in and make it feel like a home without letting things like the opinions of others, niche trends, or even resale value get in the way.
«It's really just using your home in the season that you're in and knowing that it's okay that those seasons will end, but still make your home work for you and enjoy the home that you're in.»

In their first shared space, Marrs and her husband Dave added personality with some hand-me-down furniture they had, like a dining table Marrs' mom gave the couple. Incorporating pieces from their loved ones wasn't the end of making their space into a home—it was just the beginning.
Marrs' biggest tip for couples combining styles in their new shared space is one word: compromise.
«Compromise and realize that things are just things and that the heart behind the things that are what's important,» she says.
