Ponytail palms are not exactly the fastest or the tallest growing specimens out there, so people are always in lookout for ways to make their’s stand out from the rest!
Ponytail palms crave bright, indirect sunlight. We’re not saying that sunlight will make them sprout overnight, but their growth is slower in low light.
Give them AT LEAST 6 hours of light every day. The best place to keep them is facing a South or West window or balcony. Also, make it a habit to rotate the pot every couple of weeks so there’s even growth. Otherwise, it will lean towards the light source.
Pro Tip: If you could place it below a light source or any spot where the light comes from above – well, this will be a GAME CHANGER as the plant will grow towards it.
Ponytails are succulents and not true palms– so, you need to understand the fact that watering them too often will rot up their roots, which will prevent them to absorb moisture properly, resulting in slow growth.

Always allow the top 2-3 inches of soil to dry out completely before watering the plant again.
Make sure you re-pot the plant every 2-3 years or whenever you see the roots on the topsoil. Keeping them in a smaller pots eliminates the chances of root development, which will hinder their tall growth.
