With two sons in the NFL, Donna Kelce has spent plenty of games cheering them on from the stands. But when she’s watching the big game from home, you'll find her hosting watch parties instead—and she shared her go-to Super Bowl party recipe with us.
Her number one tip for hosting a Super Bowl watch party is to keep things simple—no trick plays needed! “I truly believe that when you’re entertaining, people want to spend time with their friends, and obviously watch the big game, so it’s important to have a lot of little noshes to eat along the way,” she says.
Dips are her go-to party appetizer because they’re easy to set out and don’t require fancy plates or silverware—a must when you don’t want to miss any key plays (or commercials!). “Making dips easy to carry, easy to handle, and easy to go back to, is just better than sitting at a table because nobody’s going to want to do that,” she says.
According to Mama Kelce, the best way to serve dips is to put several different kinds out on the counter (in the original containers is fine, no need to get more dishes out!) and provide plenty of options for scooping: She serves an assortment of tortilla chips, corn chips, and crackers so there’s something for everyone.
The MVP of her appetizer spread is a Tex-Mex dip she’s been bringing to tailgates for years. “It’s a crowd pleaser and perfect for the big game,” she says.
