Maximalism in interior design is an exuberant and bold style that celebrates excess and embraces an eclectic mix of colors, patterns, textures, and decor—so it’s no wonder the design has taken off on TikTok, a social media space that rewards users for their creativity.
According to The Burrow, 449 million people viewed maximalism content in the U.S. on TikTok over the last 12 months, but it’s most popular in Colorado, Maryland, Massachusetts, and Washington.

In the early 1900s, a new interior design style emerged, and we just haven’t gotten enough of it since. Midcentury modern is characterized by a clean and uncluttered aesthetic, with sleek lines, minimal ornamentation, and a focus on functionality. Boho style is an interior design style that encapsulates a free-spirited, eclectic, and artistic aesthetic. Characterized by a love for nature, you'll often find indoor plants and natural elements like wood and rattan in this design style, along with layered textiles, such as vibrant rugs and tapestries.
