Victoriana Nursery Gardens is a family-run business. They like to help out local schools where they can – gardening is a fun and healthy activity for kids, helping them to learn about the environment and encouraging them to eat their veggies. They’re sponsoring a school garden this year, providing everything the school needs to get their veg plot up and running.
There’s some information on their website about gardening with children, and a selection of kiddie-sized tools. For schools outside of the local area, they offer a discount – 20% off plants and seeds and 10% off tools, books and sundries.
If you want to help Victoriana support gardening in schools, you can join their Scarecrow Club. For a one-off £10 fee, you get a 10% lifetime discount on all your Victoriana orders. And they’ll use your £10 to fund their school projects. You’re not signing yourself up for a lifetime of spam, either; the plan is to develop a special website where you can keep up-to-date with the school projects if you’re interested.
And you can always visit Victoriana if you’re down in Kent
